I have been tasked with identifying software programs for analysis of soil-structure interaction problems. What I noticed is that the best programs are strong in either structures or in geomechanics, but not both. For example, some of the leading structural codes like ANSYS, SAP, etc... are great for modeling structures. Some of the leading programs in geomechanics like FLAC3D, Plaxis, Geo-Slope, etc.. .are great for geomechanics but not for structures. Can anyone suggest some programs that bridge the gap?
